I have not been able to find out much about the Widofsky family. There were various spelling changes of the name. In Rubin's passenger list at Ellis Island, he is listed as "Waidowski". In the 1910 Federal Census, he is "Wyadofsky".

In the 1910 Federal Census, Rubin is listed as a boarder of Morris and Mary Fried and is listed as their "Nephew". I have found the Frieds' Ellis Island records, which show them also as former residents of Pukhovichi.

There is no record in the 1920 census with the Soundex for Widofsky in New York.

Rubin immigrated to the United States from Pukhovichi, Belarus in December 1909.
